My Submission to the Sci-Fi One-Shot Jam 2024

The Sunsetting of LUTRES-8 is my submission to the Sci-Fi One-Shot Jam 2024!

Watching the Jam evolve has been extremely rewarding. I've been around since day 1 and even though this year was my first time submitting anything, my past attempts and failures have taught me a lot about adventure design that made a big difference in getting LUTRES-8 done and out the door in time. I'm thrilled to have been a part of it!

I wrote about some of my thoughts and feelings around the Jam in a blog post on my personal blog. You can read my retrospective here.

I'm really pleased at how LUTRES-8 turned out. It's my first real, published adventure. I'm especially happy with the layout which I feel sells the theme extremely well.  There's no official winner for this years jam, but I'd like to think mine would definitely be in the running.

There are, however, some standout One-Shots that I think are worth your time! I actually reviewed all 19 of them in a second blog post. My personal favorites are:

• Storm of the Century by 1999 A.D.
• Escape Velocity by Companionwolf
• Edge of Terminator by Staggered Amusement Machine
• Let There Be Light by RPGuPolaka
• Leviathan by Cats Have No Lord

That's not to say that all the submissions aren't worthy of praise! There were a lot of bangers this year and it was hard to narrow down the list. I'll definitely be incorporating ideas from all over the submission list into my home game at some point.
